Delia Does the Midwest

My creative genious for the 'Stupid Things Freshman Say' List has diminished, but instead I will post this VERY interesting list of the COLLEGE MINDSET FOR THE CLASS OF 2009. Yes, 2009. As in, born in 1987. Can you believe that in a few years, 90's babies will be hitting the college circuit! Yikes!

So I'm back in one piece from Ohio. Ohiya, as I heard it. The wedding was great and I got to hug a cow giant cow name Sterlina. Observe:
Kaci + Delia after a few glasses of Wine Delia and the Giant Cow. Moo.

I was going to complain about the horrible flight that I had but honestly, my problems are nothing compared to what a lot of people are dealing with right now. I am thankful that I was able to travel and safely reach my destinations, which is much more than some people have.

Knitting while gazing upon cornfields was a totally different experience from the frenzy of knitting on Bay Area public transportation, which I often do. Yes, I did enjoy my time in Wauseon, OH. Added bonus: I pretty much whipped out an entire Lelah in the couple days I was there:
Calmer...calmer....CALMER!

Of course, my girls are going to need a lot more stockingette to keep them covered, so she ain't quite done yet.

I've also been busy destroying the joints in my hands knitting on da' Bears sweater.
So how much do you think this stockingette is worth for say, a dinner at one's favorite oyster bar? ORANGE! My eyes!

I USED to be a major fan of Caron Simply Soft, but hot damn my fingers hurt after a few rows of this thing. If I wasn't *sorta* looking forwards to knitting the lettering on the front, I would be so over this thing. Yet I push on. Final cast on here I come!

So I have managed to get out of bed and do pilates before work 3 TIMES this week! OK, that may sound lame to some of you, but....
Delia + Mornings = Extreme Laziness

I am so pround. Especially when I would rather join Viva at the window fir her morning activities:
God, can I please be reincarnated as a cat?

Spoiled I tell you. Ciao!

Edited to Add:
There isn't a better reason to break a yarn diet: 10% of all proceeds from Webs (yarn.com) will go to help the vicitims of Katrina. Christie - make that Calmer a reality!

Being a Chicagoan I must say I totally dig your Bears sweater! I plan on making a Lelah/Bad Penny combo in the future myself too.

Knit me IMPRESSED...my ass is lucky to get to a 7:30PM pilates class let alone one BEFORE WORK? Mind you -- my starting hour is flexible and I still can't get it together in the morning! You go girl!

Who is this Bears sweater for? As a native Chicagoan in hostile territory (New York), I'm all admiration for this project.
