Hats Off

The Stash Clean-up, 2006

Lookie what I did this weekend:

Organization is not my strong point. I was so proud, I told my sister she had to go take a look at the bookshelf in my room to which my sister responded "Holy shit Delia, that's a lot of yarn!"*
Of course, that's not ALL the stash, but merely a representation of what I have for my browsing pleasure. I elected NOT to inform her that there were two more boxes under my bed.

That basket on the third shelf holds all my pattern books and magazines, although I see the very real possibilty that the basket may be 'movin' on up', pending the addition of more yarn in 2006.

* Alexis obviously doesn't know about the yarn-hording tendancies of knitters.

Standard FO photography

FO's that were spoken of previously:

I also whipped out this bad boy for my friend Eric's birthday (which is today - yikes, gotta remember to call...) He actually designed and requested it himself. At first I thought it was going to be ugly but I really like it and might make one for myself!

I made using the earflap method found in Knitty's Vinter Lue, and followed the fair isle on this pattern. I used Caron's Simply Soft in Dark Country Blue & Khaki, and size 8 dpns the whole way. It only took me about 1.5 days to finish!

New Additions

I just started this hat last night.

For some reason, I am neglecting massive projects in favor of hats that can be finished in a couple days. More Caron's Simply Soft in Gray... stash busting at it's best.

I am also thinking about ordering some books from Crafter's Choice. Has anyone done this before and are there some secret catches that I am missing? I am on such a bargain-hunting kick right now that 4 for 4$ is hard to resist....

On that note, peace out from Fresno.

It's not quite $4, because you still have to pay s/h. Still, it's not a bad deal, as long as you can find books you want. That's my problem, they rarely have anything I want. So.

Fun stuff!
Good to see the clean up!
I desparately need to dive in and do that when I return from China!
Hats off to you!
