Something is Not Right With the World

First off - has anyone else seen this? Lion Brand goes natural? 40$ a hank? Am I seeing this straight or is the Sierra Nevada from last night still messing with me? So many questions....

Knitting progress on this blog has been slow because I am working on about 10 things, in rotation, therefore making so little progress it's not even worth showing.

It looks a little something like this:

Knee Socks<--Hourglass Sweater

Speaking of knee socks.... New Project! Hedera from Knitty, knee-legnth (with some mods), in 4ply Cotton

Christmas Scarves are also being knitted in the car, while at stop lights and stuck in the unbelieveable surface-street traffic jams.

Of course, it's a bit hard to focus on the Christmas Knittng, when our days still look like this (shots of Viva and the Patio Garden are thrown in for effect)

Argghhhh...Christmas knitting. I may cry soon.

I don't know how to feel about that whole Lion Brand thing.

$40 for ONE HUNDRED AND TWO YARDS. That would be $640 for 1600 yards, in case you were wondering or anything.

Ahem.

Pretty scarfy! I just finished one. And I MUST make Hedera! And Baudelaire!

Well, it *is* a worsted weight cashmere.... I don't really buy the "handpainted" bit though - it comes in three colors, two of which seem to be more solid than anything.

Plus, in a lot of ways, Lion Brand hides the real price of their yarns. Sure, they have some things that are similar to "higher-priced" yarns in your LYS, but take a closer look - a lot of times, the LB put up is 40 grams, where the one that supposedly costs more is put up in a 50 gram ball. They piss me off. :P

Your so-called-scarf is looking good - doesn't that pattern take forever though? Maybe I'm just slow. But I did one on 11s and I thought it would go way faster than it did. By the end I wanted to just stick the needles in my eyeballs.
