Why? I just can't bring myself to rip out about 600 yards of hard work on these early projects. The thought of unraveling the back of Kyoto that I so diligently labored on when I was new to the game is sickening. Call me a virgin frogger if you will, but I just can't take that dive yet. So that's where Jason comes in.
To him, this merely a pile of yarn. To me, wasted time that I could have been using to work on something that was the right gauge / size / color / design. Ah, the lessons learned of a novice knitter. Headed for demise: Ky-oto and the Peruvian Mini-Sweater.
In addition I have decided to implement an 'if and then' policy to my knitting:
IF you finish Clapotis, THEN you can start the Manos Shrug
.IF you finish the Dolly Cardi, THEN you can start the Retro Stripe Tank.

IF you finish the Last Minute Legwarmers, THEN you can break into Scarf Style.
Christ; no one warned me that knitting would actually put some structure and discipline in my life.
PLACES I HAVE BEEN KNITTING THIS WEEK
[] At the A's v. White Sox game in Oakland. The Sox lost. JSwag was not happy.
[] In the car on the way to San Francisco for a 4 hour, 2000 person college faire. Monday's just don't get any better than that.
[] In my bed, half lethargic, with Viva attacking the sticks (surprise surprise)

[] I was NOT knitting on Saturday afternoon while I was on my hands and knees planting a mini-garden on Jason's porch. Before I cooked dinner. And did Laundry. It was a nice little Saturday!
In other news, I am stalking a co-worker because I found out he knits, works in a LYS, and has about 10,000 things to teach a
I had no idea how many of you out there covet the s + v like me. If vinegar were a god, it would be Hercules. No doubt.
Finally, I needed something different around here and hence the changes to the blog layout. Someday maybe I will be creative and venture away from the generic Blogger 'Rounders' template and strut my own in blogland. Or I'll take a nap.

The frog pond can be a healthy place for things to rest.
It was not wasted time it was learning.
D
oooOooooOO...a nap. I love naps.
Ohh your cat is such a cutie!
White Sox fans out West?! Amazing...I am going to a Red/White Sox game this summer.
Oh, and salt & Vinegar chips are so good they are evil!! My husband and I fight over the bags of them.
My husband and I say that salt & Vinnegar chips are so good they are evil. We fight over them when we decide to buy them!! Enjoy your six bags! But not while knitting--too greasy.
Frogging is relaxing...OK OK...not ALWAYS - but just think of how beautiful that yarn will look when reknit into something that you are SOOOO happy with that you wear it all the time!
This week I've knit:
~at the theatre (off-bway)
~at 2 Restaurants
~on my couch
~on the subway
Yes...do stalk your co-worker...tips from knitters can be very useful and FUN!!!
I am totally with you on the salt and vineger chip thang. They are my favorite. It runs in the family 'cuz my mom and my aunt love them too. At least I come by it honestly, I guess.
Whoa easy there on the discipline. It's only a small step from there to knitmath and one neat little tidy WIP and a controllable stash. You wanna be like us, DON'T YOU? I mean, it's all fine and dandy to post how everything's changing starting today as long as you post in a few weeks that you bought all this yarn and have uncontrollable startitis and that you were high when you posted this. I'll be waiting.
whoa did i miss something? what was wrong with kyoto?
I'm a person who hates to frog too... I've only frogged one project completely, and although it wasn't that bad, I still am never eager to frog.
Im struggling with that whole if/then thing myself LOL, let me know if you come up with a way that works! I MUST finish my father's day gift, and then I have no idea HOW I iwll enforce the if/then edict - so many projects so little time!!
As for the frogging, i understand why it hurts but it's a good thing - think of the new possible projects you are freeing yourself for!
Have a great weekend!
