Of course, a STORE bought veil wasn't good enough, I had to make one from scratch. I think it turned out quite nice, if I do say so myself ;). I also discovered the joy of asking a 70 year old Joann's employee if they carried 'beer coozies', and then proceeding to explain for 10 minutes what a 'coozie' is.
I did take about 30 minutes last night to finish up and weave in the ends of two LONG overdue projects, Hot Lava and Clapotis. Without further adu...
Hot Lava (with her ends still hanging out in all their glory)

4 Hanks Manos del Uruguay, Color Oilslick
size 8 and 10.5 needles
I made the small size w/ the c-cup increases in the bolero part. I'm not sure how I like this because the neck 'band' bunches up a lot and doesn't seem to fold over right. I still need to block this baby, so we'll see if that helps.
Clap-O-Tis
It's amazing that it has been reaching the high 90's in San Jose yet I still manage to freeze my (non-existant) balls off at work around mid-afternoon. Clap-o-tis to the rescue!

6.5 balls Karabella Aurora 8
Size 8 needles
This yarn blocks to make the most beautiful fabric. I L-O-V-E this shawl; she keeps me nice and cozy on those 90-degree San Jose afternoons. Do you like the photo shoot in the jail cell? My co-workers thought I was insane. Seriously.
More FO's down, hell yeah.
Finally, Hey Tori, thanks for tha FAB stitch markers and kind words in your card! I'm sipping my wine as I type, hope your weekend finds you time to do the same!
Ciao Bellas!

DAMN! You are one crafty hot mama!
I'm liking the Hot Lava...I sorta finished mine...I did run out of yarn, but will take some yarn from the sleeves...they're really long. But enough about me...I'm lovin' the color or Lava and especially Clapotis! So pretty!
AND you made a veil?!? Whatevah! You must have 30 hours in your day!
I love the beer cozies you made for your friend! Have fun at the bachelorette party!!!
Hot Lava looks really cute on you, but Delia, when are you going to wear a wool jacket in San Jo???
Beautiful job on both projects! Hot Lava is on my list for this fall...and seeing yours just bumped it up higher on my list!
Your clapotis is beautiful- I think you picked the perfect yarn to use. I've been wanting to make clapotis for a while and now I'm going to use Karabella Aurora as well! Thanks!
LOVE the beer coozies. Brilliant notion.
I think freezing at work in the summer is just part of living in the San Jose area. It suddenly gets really hot and no one can cope, so they jack up the a/c.
You're Clapotis looks great! :)
a few questions...
Where's HotLava from? (I guess I could google it eh?)
Did it fit better after blocking?
Great Clapotis!!!!
