I Finally Got My Oysters

Boston was AMAZING. I've always heard great things about the city but WOW - what a trip! I'm not going to bore you with a mile-long post about everything, so I'll break it down over a couple days.

Day 1
We left Fres-yes on Tuesday morning at 5am (note that the tempature is already 75 degrees - gotta love July in the valley!)
The breakfast of champions!
To assist with my insane fear of flying, Matt promptly ordered me a Bloody Mary as soon as we got checked in. Ah the man knows the way to my heart.
After a mellow flight over, we got to the hotel and were pretty much exhausted (check out the view from the room.) We ended up walking about 200 feet to a pub and ate while watching the All-Star game (one of the more entertaining games in recent history, in my humble opinion.)

Can we please talk about how much my hair HATED the humidity?!?

After my conference on Wednesday, we strolled through Boston Common to the original Cheers, the Bull & Finch Pub. Cool place, but loaded with tourists (HI! Can you take our photo please?!?) We ended up having a few rounds of Bunker Hill Blueberry Ale which was to DIE for (I may have to pay one of you on the East Coast to ship Matt and I a 12-er of this!!!). We stayed for awhile because we were chatting with some fellow travelers from Ohio and South Carolina (side note: We didn't meet any other travelers from California during the entire trip).
Since I had been talking about oysters pretty much non-stop since we left Fres-yes (i LOVE LOVE LOVE them), we decided to hit Legal Seafood for dinner and these babies were all mine. I was in heaven.
Day 2

I had more conferencey stuff, but we were able to get out for a bit because Matt walked holes in his shoes the day before and needed a new pair, and I wanted to check out Windsor Button (MUCHO thanks for the recommendations - I was not disappointed!) I picked up a few goodies which I will get to later, but was the most excitied about finding Norah Gaughn's Collection #1. That night we had a dinner at the Boston State Room (AMAZING views) and then hung out at Whiskey Park getting a little tipsy with other conference folks.

Part II coming when I don't have to be at work in 10 minutes.

I always think about these things after the fact - did you go to Filene's Basement? I love that you don't have to leave the T station to get to it. How about Sam Adams?

I miss Boston. *sigh*

I love oysters, too! We had a vacation in Washington and Oregon once and had to drive through South Bend, the Oyster Capitol of the world. Yum!!! Boston looks fun! My husband has family back east, I think I would like to go visit there one day.
