I love baseball. LOVE it. And of course, in my opinion there is one truly great team that I will root for until I die.
I come from a long line of Giants fans including my dad and grandpa, so I pity the fool who has another team in mind when he comes into our little circle (i.e. my sisters boyfriend, an A's fan).
I am going to sorely miss the ability I had in the Bay Area to jump on the CalTrain at a moment's notice to go to mid-week games. A couple beers, a hotdog, and serious heckling of the opposing team was BY FAR the best way to spend an evening. Unfortunately, I now have a 3 hour haul to the park, so at least for now, this fantasy has to be lived out via the television.
My dad, sister and I go to Opening Day every year as a little father-daughter bonding, something I am sure we will continue doing for a long, LONG time. There's nothing like ditching work for the day for some baseball, yah know? Hopefully this will go on to include OUR kids & future Giants fans someday. Love them or hate them, you really can't argue with
Till then, I'll just keep talking smack and making outrageous bets with Dodgers fans about how far superior my team is. Heh. ;)

Love the shoes watching the game!
Great "G" entry! As someone who works for a telecom company, I got quite a laugh out of the naming issue! Too true.
