Name the Bulldog

I'll get to that title in a second, but first of thank you all for confirming that I wasn't crazy and accidently dropped a dallop of dishwashing liquid in my knitting bag when no one was looking.

The Apartment
It's been a mellow few days on the homefront, so I was able to do some more painting and decorating of the apartment. After a lot of 80's music and an assult on Cost Plus, I think it's coming together quite nicely.

* the flash in this photo makes color on the wall with the closet look hideous. I swear it's not that color in real life.

All I have left to do is my bathroom and bedroom, then re-painting the trim on the deck because it is peeling and ugly. I also just used my tax return to buy a big, comfy chair for the living room (if you have not yet discovered Overstock.com, you need to spend some time browsing there ASAP. Yes you read that right: no tax and $2.95 shipping - EVEN ON FURNITURE!) Since I have publicly proclaimed I am not leaving this apartment until I am forced to (i.e. getting married - and lord knows how far off that date is), the extra time and $ put in is worth it.
Knitting
Last night I got the urge for a quicky. You know, a little break up the three major projects I have been working on. So I decided on the Felted Bowl from One Skein (FABULOUS new book, by the way), in some recycled wool I bought from Elann.com awhile back. So while waiting for my sis to come pick me up for dinner, I settled outside on the deck with the book, size 11 dpns, the yarn, and a hard cider. An hour later, not thinking, I left it laying on the floor of the living room. When I came home, I saw this:

* I just don't get it. Twice now? Viva apparently loves her some wool.

Elsewhere, these have been sharing my time:

Jaywalkers
(dishsoap and all)

Aline Jacket

-----------------------------------------------------
As for the missing pattern, I finished the back and 1/2 a sleeve on the Karabella Cardi before the disappearance. Unfortunately, I am now at a point where I NEED the pattern so I'm stuck. I'm giving it one more week to see if it shows up, otherwise I am going to have to bite the bullet and get another one.

There is also this UFO project floating around. Hopefully it shall be revealed soon.

Name the Bulldog Contest

I had my camera at work yesterday and thought it would be fun to snap this guy. Officially, he's a replica of the Fresno State mascot Time Out, but I think he needs a more personal name, since he resides on my desk 95% of the time and sometimes I talk to hime (Kidding!) What do you think? A name-the-bulldog contest, perhaps?

The Rules:
Comment on this entry with a potential name, and why you think it should be such. You can read a bit about the campus traditions here, if you like. I'll pick my favorite for his actual name, but all entries will be entered into a drawing to win some Fresno State-themed yarn and other goodies.

Contest ends Friday, April 21st.

To me, bulldogs should always be named Bubba. But that's just me.
; )

Being at a school with a bulldog mascot, I like the name of ours (Handsome Dan), but reading about Fresno State, I think you should go with V.

Ooooh, a naming contest--I'm so in! I will have to give this one serious tought, though. Those Jaywalkers are so luscious--what a fantastic colorway.

He looks like a Barney to me.

Hmm, I think I'll come at this from left field. Freesia (it sounds like Fresno sort of to me). Or Tinkle.

I always thought that if I ever had a bulldog I'd name him Einer. What can I say, I'm scandahoovian. Thanks for being such a FANTASTIC SP! I'm enjoying your blog.

Gonna toss a few out there
1 - Arid
2 - Walker (1 & 2 in tribute of course...)
3 - MC (as the bulldog is the USMC mascott!)

Hubby is a former Marine, so I have lotsa USMC acronym bulldog names, but none of them really seem to apply here. Guess I will quit while I'm ahead!

I've got it! Victor! I knew it would come to me if I gave it 7 days to stew in my wee little mind.
