Milestones

It's sort of like reaching the top of a mountain only to realize an entire range still lies in front of you.

I got my MOJO back

Matt and I were laying around last night, with the AC and a fan blasting directly on us, lamenting the heat and talking about how we longed for rain and cold and wind and storms so we could lay under piles of blankets in the new house and drink cider.

This will not be happening anytime soon. People, it is as HOT as the face of the SUN around here lately. I know a lot of you out there are going through crap weather as well, but it doens't mean I can't dream...

Plus we've just been so excitied about moving, and the house is just flying along... I think we're going to be in a full month earlier than originally anticipated. Tile and cabinets are done, and the wedding registry is brimming with lots of fun stuff to make this place home. (I'm like a kid in a candy store the the kitchen stuff!)

We've also picked out some pieces of furniture and are starting to sock $$$ away for them. It all feels so grown up and adult-like!

We had our official engagement party last week, and it was one of the sweetest, happiest moments of my life. My [usually very reserved and not so great in front of people] dad gave the greatest speech ever that made everyone cry, and my mom turned it around and made everyone laugh when brought up my infamous quote, "You have to kiss a lot of frogs before you meet your prince" (Hi Priest! Please pretend you didn't hear that!)

Entire set here, if you wish.

All things aside, I've finally got my knitting MOJO back after about a 6 week hiatus. I even have an FO to share, but left my other camera at home with the photos. I'm currently juggling a plateful of WIP's (as if that should surprise anyone who reads this blog), that include Thermal, Sesame, Cobblestone Pullover [from the new Interweave], and a baby cardi:

It's good to be back, people. Just in time for Rowan to finally pull it together.

Lookie Here

Proof that at least SOME knitting has been going on.

I started Sesame from Magknits on a whim with the yarn I had actually bought for Ariann. Now I am about 75% finished so there is no turning back. It's super squishy and fun (now if we would just get back down under 100 degrees....)

Stop and Smell The Flowers

The best part of the wedding (besides marrying the love of my life, of course!) are the flowers.

Back with relevant posting soon, I promise!

And You Thought My Blogging Was Bad....

I've been a sh*tty blogger for the last six weeks, but I've been an even worse knitter! Maybe it's the heat, or maybe it's wedding stress, but I can barely knit more than 50 stitches before I put whatever down and walk away. I've got about 3 sweaters that could be finished in a couple hours but I just can't do it.

Plus, we just got word that our house is going to be done in about 6 weeks - YIKES!!! Don't get me wrong, I can't FRIGGEN wait, but that's just one more massive list of things to do!

What colors to paint, what window fixtures to order, what furniture do we NEED now and what can wait, why are washers+dryers so expensive, what to unpack and what to wait for from the registery. ACK ACK ACK.

I'd show you some knitting that I am working on but everything (like, 8+ projects because I also having knitting A.D.D.) is just a big pile of nothingness right now. Someday soon, I hope.

Instead, I'll tell you about my most recent vacation. We headed out of the 110-degree Valley Heat to Manresa Beach (inspiration for the legwarmers), for foggy days and general laziness.

This is what one week of travel looks like for the future Mr. + Mrs. Note 30 pack of Bud Light (but we brought nice wine to balance it out!!):

Yummy Yummy BBQ'ed Osyters, Garlic and Brie, with my famous spicy vinegar:

Dear Readers

Sorry we've been MIA, July has been a crazy month and we just got home from vacation!

Delia will post soon, after she figures out how I typed this post without opposable thumbs.
