Ravelympics 2010

In an effort to jump-start my pregnancy-induced knitting slump, I jumped on board for Ravelympics 2010. Of course, I chose a much less ambitious project than last time, given the said lack of ambition and less time to veg out in front of the TV. I also joined Team Buttercream, for that extra dose of motivation.

Without further ado, I give you my project for the next 2 weeks:

Vancouver Cardi
: #22 Zippered Jacket by String
Knit Picks Cadena, 10 skeins
Size 10 needles.

Yes, I realize the large gauge is a cop-out, given what I've proven my ability is. See above.

You may remember that I butchered this same project back in the day. I love the pattern; it was merely a bad yarn and sizing choice (come to think of it, I have no idea what I did with the WIP. I know I never finished it and I can't remember ripping it... hmmm....). I think this is going to be a much better interpretation.

In other news, DH made me give up the puppy. In his defense it was totally the right call, but I can't help it, I got totally attached to the little guy.

The only reprieve is that he went to live with a 7-year-old kid who loves him and was super excited to take him home. But I still might have cried over it.

22 Weeks

OK, so I'm starting to get a wee bit uncomfortable.

How far along?
22 Weeks

Total Weight Gain: 1 lb (+10) since pre-pregnancy. Not bad for 22 weeks and my 3-times-a-week french fry habit.

Maternity Clothes? Just bought a bunch of maternity pants/skirts. Definitely here to stay. On the clothing note, having a hell of a time figuring out what to wear to my sister's bachelorette party this weekend!

Stretch Marks? Nope. Body butter application to 3 times a day.

Sleep? Starting to get that dreaded preggo insomnia I've been reading about. Of course, having the puppy around isn't helping.

Best Moment This Week: Getting told that I look great by some co-workers. Never hurts to stroke a pregnant woman's ego.

Movement: Strong and consistent. I'm feeling kicks and not just flutters now.

Food Cravings: Pancakes. Pickled Radishes (if you have a lead on where I can buy these in bulk, I will be forever indebted to you!). French Fries. Frozen Yogurt. CARBS.

Gender: It's a BOY!!!

Labor Signs: Nope

Belly Button - In or Out? In

What I miss: Raw sushi. I would give anything for a slab of ahi right now. And wine. Not alcohol, but the taste of real wine, not the alcohol-free stuff. I don't forsee either of these changing in the next 5 months, but I've had a couple sips of wine to feed the craving. Being the only sober person at a bachelorette party this weekend is REALLY going to suck.

What I am looking forward to: Putting together the nursery.

Weekly Wisdom: Maternity yoga is god-sent.

Milestones: Looking totally pregnant now.

Of course, work is KILLING me right now. Only So busy I haven't had time to do anything other than work, go home, keep the puppy from chewing up everything we own, and sleeping. I haven't even been knitting. SAD!
