For some reason I spent the morning u-tubing some of my favorite 80's videos. I hope Dom grows up and loves this stuff as much as I do.
Forgot about George's solo in the middle of that one
Totally don't remember that one being so morbid.

VRRRRRRRRRMMMMM
Nothing much to say, but I just love this photo of Dom at his buddy Luke's 1st Birthday party.

I got to spend an evening in the old college stomping ground, Santa Barbara, this past weekend. My friend who was with me was an alum as well, and we couldn't stop talking about how lucky we were to go to school there. Don't get me wrong, I had to claw my way in to UCSB so I was always incredibly appreciative to be there, but there's nothing like driving out of the central valley smaze (smog+haze) in the morning and seeing this view at night. Trust me, it was even more awesome in person (especially since we were accompanied by chardonnay and oysters).

We baptized Dominic this past Saturday. As you might remember, I myself was baptized into the same church a couple years ago, and we were able to use the same cross (which was his dad's from HIS baptism 33 years ago) again for him.
His godparents are our friends Peter and Demitra. Peter is the kind of godfather who will teach him how to pick out a fine champagne, and teach him to drive stick shift in a Rolls Royce.

On the Move
I wasn't there to actually see how this happened because I was washing bottles in the kitchen. All I know is that I was gone for maybe a minute, and this is where I found him. Not only did he start on his big fleece blanket on the other end of the room, but he was also facing the other direction.
He's not actually crawling either, so he covered some serious ground scooting and/or rolling.
Matt, I think it's time we invest in some baby gates!

If I had to pick a last meal, it would probably be a slab of fresh ahi. Matt brought home a pound of it last night because I was having a bad day. Does this man know me or what. I turned it into a Poke with green onion, sesame seeds, garlic, soy sauce, rice wine, and lime juice. DELICIOUS.

Proof that I still knit: Calorimetry in Berroco Pure Merino. Soft and squishy and perfect for my new "mom" hairstyle of a messy bun on top of my head.
What's more, I actually knit this in one day. But let's be honest, it was because Dom napped like a champ yesterday. I'm still a pretty slow knitter!

We got Dom this vTech "trainer" laptop for Christmas. He freaking LOVES it. I don't know if he's mimicking mommy when she's on her laptop, but he'll actually play with this thing for more than 10 minutes which beats all records held by his other toys.
Also: Dom is modeling his BabyLegs legwarmers, which are awesome: No taking off pants to change diapers! And since the introduction of solids, there has been a LOT of that going on.

The New Year is here, and I am going to try something new that might help me blog more often. I am going to try the 365 days of photos project, and will attempt to post them here are well.
Matt and I said goodnight to 2010 with take-out sushi, fancy champagne, and the crystal flutes from our wedding. It was a quiet, perfect night.
2010 is going to be hard to beat: Our son was born, all 3 of our siblings got married, the Lakers AND the Giants won their respective championships, I've had the opportunity to be a stay-at-home-mom. But definitely looking forward to what lies ahead.
