I'm even late to my own party

I was so excitied prancing around the house in my pretty new sweater that I missed my 2-year Blog-a-versary. Sweet.

Thanks for all your comments on that FO, by the way. I've come a long way, baby.

On a side note: Could you resist pulling over on the side of a freeway on your way to wedding upon seeing giant human cut-outs in suggestive positions?

Yeah, neither could we.

The Isle of Fair

Armed with a Sunday afternoon and a few motivations (i.e. Viva the yarn-protecting studette & homemade Sangria), I was able to finish up this, my most-favorite, best-fitting, FO to date.

Fair Isle Pullover, Vouge Knitting Holiday 2005
Knit Picks Mainline
Size 6,7, and 8 needles
Mods: None, except going down 1 needle size and omitting the picot bind off.

I love, love, LOVE this sweater. I didn't think it was going to look very good on but I was super ecstatic with the results. Also, I will definitely use Main Line again - with the exception of the wool contect, I think it has a very similar look and feel to the dearly departed Cotton Ease.

Back

Wow... I never realize how quickly the weeks fly by until I turn my attention to this site and realize it has been 18 days since I posted!!!! I have been on the road to college fairs the last two weeks and although I have had my computer with me, I've been too tired to knit all that much, let alone post. However, I do have some goodies to show.

New Yarn from Michaels
SWS in Natural Earth & Shetland Chunky Tweed, both from Patons.
CONGRATS to Patons for coming out with some great, AFFORDABLE new yarns this season. The SWS is a Soy-Wool blend that I read about over at Livejournal, and I find it to be VERY similar to Noro Silk Garden. It's also much softer, if you can live with the limited color palette. Here's a photo of Viva's a*s, along with how it knits up:

This is Lady Eleanor from Scarf Style. I'm in LOVE. It was initially a gauge swatch but I haven't been able to put it down.

I am also putting this out there to see if anyone is interested. I have 6 balls of Rowan 4ply Cotton in Bluebell up for grabs. It's in its original package, from a smoke-free home. I'm open to sale or trade, so make me an offer if you are interested (leave a comment or email delia dot ann at gmail dot com). Approximate retail value is $36.

GO DOGS

It's football time at the U.

and someone out in F'No State Athletics must be reading my blog. Remember my contest to name the bulldog mascot I have on my desk?

And Jennifer had the great idea of Victor? Check this out [new window].

Currently knitting: Placket Pullover from LMKG as a gift for yet another prego friend. Digging the fabric I'm getting with a Rowan Cashsoft DK and a size 8 needles. I must make a cardigan with this combo for myself!!!!!

Look La! The Bunny cup lives!
