I'm Getting Married

The festivities have begun. I had my first venture into spray tanning, my best friend is on her way here from Michigan as we speak (type), and tonight I'll be walking down the aisle of the church with a bouquet of ribbons.

I can't believe it's here. I am definitely feeling the nerves - Lets DO THIS already!!

This sweater took me almost 2 years to knit. And the worst part was, it sat about 1 ball away from completion for almost a year until some burst of motivation had me finish it.

I have always said I was probably avoiding it because I thought I was going to hate the way it looked, but the jury is still out.



I don't really like this yarn. It splits like CRAZY and snags even worse. I have to keep Viva about 20 feet away or she could very easily ruin it. But at least it's DONE. DONE DONE DONE LA LA LA. So happy!

I also added a toggle button to the Minimalist Cardigan. It's exactly what it needed to make it more wearable.

6 Days!

Bliss

I'm sitting here with my dog on my feet (yes you read that right, ON my feet), my cat in my lap, my knitting, chardonnay, and no thoughts of the wedding. Well, enough thoughts to have just written that. But not wedding stress. This is a nice change.

Starting 2008 With Finished Knits

This is a little out of order, but then again, my entire thought process is a little whacked out for the time being. Plus, this is the first time I have been out of bed before 7am in like 15 days.

This is one piece of my Holiday knitting that I am particularly proud of:





I am proud of it for a couple reasons:

1) The seaming, finishing, and other minor details turned out perfect (funny how that happens when you are knitting for a stranger)

2) I pretty much made up the entire pattern. I used 1 skein of Not-Charcol-But-Really-Navy Cotton Ease, just over 2 balls of Knit Picks Main Line in Butter Pecan, and size 6 Addi's.

This was a commissoned piece for a co-worker, so I didn't feel so bad breaking my "no-buy yarn" policy before the wedding when this came across my screen. I got enough in color 135 for the Fitted Knits Short Sleeve Cardigan. I couldn't resist - even with shipping it was less than 35$
