Late Night (Did I Just Say 10pm Is LATE?) Postings...

First off, some pictures of what have might possibily have been the most entertaining (sober) wedding of my life. You know it's going to be a good one when this occurs on your way to the reception.
First, there was Matt and I's insane case of giggles during the speeches at the reception...
Then the entire table got engaged...
And of course, no wedding would be complete without a lunge-and-chug...
Finally, some directions just in case we forgot if we were going to the golf course or the church at the end of the road!

Then there is this week... when I've been stuck at a hotel in Sunnyvale since Monday. The fairs have been slow, so I was knitting like a mad woman. Wiped out my sleeve of the Hourglass Sweater, and then this quirkly little bag project.

I actually ran out of yarn while I was here! What's a girl to do?!?

(photographed on the standard-issue hotel ironing board)

Off to Michaels I went with a 40% off coupon for Mason-Dixon Knitting, and then to Purlescence, CONVIENIENTLY located 3 blocks away, for some Euroflax Linen. Any guesses about what this is?

They are so nice in there - they even wound my 800 yards on linen for me. So I am back in business, with something to keep me busy until I am back home with boy + cat.

I miss them bunches. / sap.

Lemons and a Football A*s Kicking...

...sums up last weekend.

Saturday, the Fresno State football team got their a*s handed to them during Homecoming. But I didn't care; I was having WAAAYYY too much fun at the tailgate.

I had every intent on knitting up something Fresno-Stateish this season; I even have the blue & red Cascade 220 waiting in my stash. However, I always end up drinking a little too much wine to do anything productive other than jump on my boyfriends back while he is talking politics to a family friend.

Sunday I threw my first baby shower. Weddings of my friends, I've gotten over. But baby showers? It was definitely a little wierd.

(that's my mama in the center with the napkin in her lap)

I was pretty damn impressed with our 60$ decorations. Lemon leaves from my grandma's backyard and lemons delievered fresh first thing in the morning (TNB's family is in the fruit business so he gives me the hook-up). The brunch and champagne was AWESOME.

I finished up the Placket Pullover in time for the shower, but am saving it to gift until my friends hubby is around. Photos & knitting updates soon

Dating is Killing my Knitting Life

I know I really never gave ya'll a heads up of my breakup last year with someone who used to appear on this blog, but it's one of those things I just didn't care to live through again online.

However picture me, Viva, a bottle of wine, ONE glass, and my knitting. Over and over again. That was the first couple months of my life when I was back in the 'No. Hell, I was turning out projects left and right; to a point where I think I was up to 200 yards a day. Yowza. It's not that I didn't want to date, it's that I was fed up with relationships. I like to think for myself. Make decisions be myself. Not have to consult someone about when, where, who, what, why, etc, etc. And life was good. Well, not on my liver, but that's another story :).

Anywho, enter TNB and wow, did things change. Ya'll, he's made me NOT want to knit. I now want to come home and linger over long dinners and talk politics, sit on the patio and drink wine while listening to the night (and every now and then, the obnoxious neighbors), and cuddle. Ick, I said it.

I realized a couple days ago just how little I have been actually knitting, reading about knitting, writing about knitting, fantasizing about new yarn. Strange, huh? Of course, TNB and I are settling into a little more "normal" routine, so I've started taking the entire knitting bag to his place on regular occasion... but wow, who would'a thought it.

It's all good. I'm sure I should enjoy this time - the dating "honeymoon", so to speak. I just hope my stash doesn't gather too much dust.

Hanging around on the needles: Sideways Spencer, Aline (I'll get around to that damn sleeve someday), Hourglass Pullover, Lady Eleanor.

Dullness

I might quite possibily be the most dull blogger right now. Absolutely NOTHING is coming to me to post. It's not like my life has been boring these days - anything but, actually, but the words just aren't coming to me. So for now, more photos and more viva-ness.

Currently:

1) Sideways Spencer, started on a whim last Saturday, with some TLC soft yarn. This makes my hands hurt like hell, but I needed a somewhat-challenging project.

2) Hourglass Pullover from LMKG in Blue Sky Organic Cotton, for blah blah St st. I got a little crazy and did a contrast trim for the hemmed part.

Kitty at peace...

And ready to kill...

My wrist hurts from typing this post. Damn acrylic.
