Pintuck Tee
I finished my Pintuck Tee Shirt a few days ago but just finally got around to photographing it.
I do believe it is the first wearable summer top I've completed.
(hard to keep your dog out of self-portraits when you are home alone)
Euroflax Linen, size 3 needles, size Medium. I left the sleeves off and instead finished the armholes by picking up stitches and binding them off knitwise on the next row. See the Ravelry page with all other details.

Wonderland
If you know me in real life, you know that I am not a movie person. The movies I DO like border on quirky and almost always involve Tim Burton and/or Johnny Depp (HELLO Pirates and Charlie & The Chocolate Factory!).
That being said, I am so freaking excited for Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland in 2010. I finally saw some of the first images over at Apartment Therapy this morning and it looks every bit as psychedelic and weird as I would expect from the Burton-Depp duo.
And it's in 3-D! Can't. Wait!

Inspired: Felted Flowers
I've recently been totally enamored by interior design and lifestyle blogs like sfgirlbybay and Design*Sponge. I've always been somewhat intimated by actually "decorating" our house, but recently I've been getting more inspired. Right now we have a fairly-conservative decor scheme going on, but after months of blog reading and "starring" my favorites in the Google Reader, I'm ready to tackle some projects. I've been looking a lot at pillow as a good place to start, and this post was the one that put me over the edge.
Felt? Bingo! Got a bookshelf full of wool! The pillows on our bed are pretty dull - just some brown suede from Target, so this would be a lovely addition.
Enter Noni Patterns. Specifically, Camila Flowers and Just Hydrangeas. Totally. Inspired!

Yet another lesson in GAUGE
I took a quick walk around campus at lunch. It is PUR-TY out there today!
Not so pretty? The realization after I got back to the office that this is way too big.
Spent the rest of my lunch hour in the frog pond.

Wiiiiiiiiiiiiii!
It's not as if nothing has been going on around here, I've just been waking up for our earlier summer hours. This means that I in good shape if I make it out the door 15 minutes late. Not much time or thought processing going on for blogging.
However, I'm stopping int his morning to plug a recent purchase we made. We picked up the Wii Active at Costco this weekend and I must report, it kicked my butt.
This thing takes no mercy on you. As I was about to collapse during my second attempt in the inline skating (you squat and then do jumps - 24 times. I remember failing at this exercise every time I tried it during the 3 months I was super-motivated in college and enrolled in 30-minute bootcamp at the gym. Anyway...) and the trainer is telling me "You're going to get hurt out there! Are you even trying!?" The next thing I know I find myself cursing the TV and an avatar in a video game.
But you know what?
I'm a good sore today and I think I may actually make it through this 30-day challenge. Coming from someone who loathes exercise (i know, I KNOW), this should be a statement enough to sell it to everyone who knows me.
Plus, if I can drop this last 10 pounds before our family vacation I am treating myself to a serious shopping spree.

In Which I Never Thought I Would Wear "I LOVE LA" Attire...
We were up at our cabin this weekend, with much to celebrate. First off, my DH landed a big account at work that he had been going after pretty aggressively. I am so happy for him, considering I haven't seen him that giddy since, oh, our wedding day.
And to top that, the Lakers won AND he got me to wear my very own "We love LA" shirt (PS - this still feels like cheating on SF to me!)
I even broke out the Manresa Leg Warmers.
Alas, there was a crazy thunderstorm on Saturday so we couldn't go outside and enjoy the view (it's actually been storm central around here. Check out these AMAZING photos that a local photographer caught. The bottom photo was actually taken at night!)
We did, however, manage to change out of our PJ's and actually shower so we could head to a nice dinner at the Narrow Gauge Inn (Highly recommended if you are ever in the Yosemite Area - A little over-priced but the food and service was great)
Lots of knitting was accomplished, but only one FO to share.

My friend Kaci came up with it, based on a Hopi symbol. We refer to these matching tattoos as the "Tequila Laced with Pride Incident of 2006"
