Not So Easy Sunday

This weekend we decieded to go do some Wine Tasting on the local wine trail. Our friend Peter had just fixed up his Vintage Bentley so off we went in style.

F-No has really stepped it up with the quality of wine in the region. Mariposa was defintiely my favorite - I like every single wine we tried there - one, the Cru label Pinot Noir, gave any wine I had ever tried in Napa a run for their money. Chateau Lasgoity (pronounced Las-Coy-Tea) also had some great wines - one of which was a 5$ magnum of white zin (Zin Rose) that might have been the best I've ever had. Seriously! Both Matt and his brother bought one.

We then had a fabulous dinner at a place downtown called Veni Vidi Vici. SUPER under-rated. As you can tell, I hated my dinner. It was awful.

Mushroom Ravioli with Sausage in a balsamic-cream sauce. I am now on a mission to re-create the sauce ASAP.

We also thought it was a great idea, since you know, it was SUNDAY, to drink Martini's and wine like it was nobody's business.

That's Matt's brother, Adam. He's single and looking, ladies! After a couple of those bad boys, I was definitely hurting on Monday morning. Maybe because right before we left the restaurant I looked like this:

My sister told the waiter I knit my sweater. I didn't. I bought it for $14 at Nordstrom Rack. But I went along with it anyways.

GOOD TIMES!

Weekend Knitting:
1) Lady Eleanor (Making a fast break for the finish line!)
2) Ball-band Dishcloth for a housewarming party this weekend (and Viva looking very guilty of something!)
3)Nighty from MDK

Also on the needles:

  • Cal Pride Socks for Dad
  • My So-Called Scarf for Kaci
  • A-Line Jacket's Final Sleeve
  • Hedera Knee Socks (--> The yarn is Rowan 4ply Cotton - I think Jen asked in the comments on the last post <--)
  • Hourglass Pullover
  • Brea Bag

So, SO SAD!

Something is Not Right With the World

First off - has anyone else seen this? Lion Brand goes natural? 40$ a hank? Am I seeing this straight or is the Sierra Nevada from last night still messing with me? So many questions....

Knitting progress on this blog has been slow because I am working on about 10 things, in rotation, therefore making so little progress it's not even worth showing.

It looks a little something like this:

Speaking of knee socks.... New Project! Hedera from Knitty, knee-legnth (with some mods), in 4ply Cotton

Christmas Scarves are also being knitted in the car, while at stop lights and stuck in the unbelieveable surface-street traffic jams.

Of course, it's a bit hard to focus on the Christmas Knittng, when our days still look like this (shots of Viva and the Patio Garden are thrown in for effect)
