This One Week In April...

It's no secret my blogging has gone... downhill. I'm not going anywhere, hoping that the desire to document my life for the unknown internet readership (except for family - hi Dad!) will return once the kiddo is here.

Anyhow, where I've left off on composing actual posts I've picked up on daily photos with the iPhone.

So here's a glimpse of the past week:

Opening Day @ AT&T Park, year #7

How young is too young to get kids listening to Keith Richards?

Amazing rainbow @ the U. after a freak hailstorm

Really Katy, make yourself comfortable wherever you see fit.

Flora in the yard is exploding and I LOVE IT.

And imagine that, my kid is being difficult.

30 Weeks

How far along? 30 Weeks

Total Weight Gain: (+20) since pre-pregnancy. OYE!

Maternity Clothes? Yes please. I've moved on to nursing bras as well.

Stretch Marks? Still none. I can't be this lucky, can I?

Sleep? Pretty good. DMC likes to kick like crazy at night so he'll keep me awake for a few extra minutes whenever I get up to use the bathroom.

Best Moment This Week: Noticed how many people are noticing ME being pregnant. There's definitely no if, ands, or buts about it now.

Movement: Moving away from kicks to jabs. I can see him pressing body parts into my belly.

Food Cravings: Frozen yogurt, cupcakes, cheese. Luckily the sugar craving is NOT GD, since I found out I passed my test no problem. Sugar-free fro-yo has been a GODSEND.

Gender: BOY

Labor Signs: Starting to feel Braxton Hicks here and there. DMC WAS in the proper head down position at my 28-week appt, but I am pretty sure he flipped around. The doctor found his heart way higher this time.

Belly Button - In or Out? In. But it's spread open wide!

What I miss: Raw sushi. Happy Hour. I have an unbelievable desire to go to Las Vegas right now.

What I am looking forward to: We decided on a 4-d ultrasound @ 34 weeks, so I guess that!

Weekly Wisdom: Belly size is relative. I've been told repeatedly how small I look, but the Dr. told me today I'm actually measuring a little bigger than 30 weeks. I swear this kid is coming early!

Milestones: Weekly countdown in now in single digits!

X-X-X

Let's see what sort of google traffic I generate with a title like that!

With the hustle and bustle of everyday life around here, when I finally slowed down for a minute this weekend it hit me: 30. Yup, today is my 30th Birthday. Wow. Just wow.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not upset about this. I couldn't ask for more - I'm married to a man I love and adore, we've got a baby boy on the way, we own a house, everyone is in good health and I've got a fabulous group of friends. But there is something bitter-sweet about saying goodbye to the carefree days of 20 and HELLO to the "responsible" 30s.

What was that about never trusting someone over 30?

Adding to the strangeness/ironicness of the day, I had my 28 week doctors appointment this morning at 8:30am. The Dr. that saw me today was the SAME one who delivered me (well, he couldn't get there in time but his midwife did - he showed up 5 minutes later). So there I was, sitting in his office getting my exam at the EXACT minute I was born 30 years ago. Cool, huh?

We're keeping it low-key tonight - not much you can do when you're 7 months pregnant and exhausted by 6pm. Matt is taking me to dinner at Cracked Pepper, a fabulous little place here in town and I will be crazy and sneak a few sips of wine. We might even stay out after the sun has gone down :).
